Fussy and Fancy Friday #53, Totally Gorjuss #112

Hi all!

I am entering this card in two challenges:

Fussy and Fancy Friday challenge #53 was to use either animal print or birthday.

Totally Gorjuss challenge #112: they wanted to see something happy. I don't think these little monkeys could look any happier! Look at their big smiles. AND they're wishing the peeps over at the Fussy and Fancy Friday blog a HAPPY birthday *wink*

Here is my creation:

The card was very easy to make. Simple. I think despite the double twine bow, it could still work for a guy.

Supplies:

stamp: Changito B-day by Stampendous!

ink: Memento in Tuxedo Black

Copic colors: Y00, Y02, Y08, YG03, YG23, YG25, BG0000, E55, E57

paper: this is where it gets funky... I know I used Georgia Pacific white card stock and Papertrey Ink black card stock called True Black. The yellow card stock is generic (no brand) and I don't know who makes the blue paper behind the yellow layer.

accessories: yellow button from stash; The Twinery twine in Charcoal

Thanks for looking and Happy New Year!

Bugaboo's last challenge of 2011

Hi all!

This is my submission for the challenge over at Catch the Bug blog. The challenge was to use the picture provided as inspiration.

This is what I came up with:

I have no clue who makes the stamp, but boy is that stamp lovely! It has beautiful detail to show where you're supposed to shade. The inspiration I got from the picture provided was the color of the dress and the background colors. I played around with the colorless blender to try and break up all the blue. Added a bit of sparkle with rhinestones. Some are a champagne color and others are clear.

Supplies used:

stamps: unknown dress stamp; Papeertrey Ink- Mega Mixed Messages

ink: Memento- Tuxedo Black

Copic colors: 0, R24, R27, R29, B23, B34, B37, BS multiliner

card stock: Papertrey Ink in True Black; Georgia Pacific in white

accessories: Darice Finishing Accents 3mm Crystal Rhinestones; The Paper Company Studio- wedding jewels (rhinestones)

Thanks for looking!

MFTWSC52

Hi all! This is my submission for the Wednesday Stamp Club #52 over at the My Favorite Things blog. They have a weekly sketch that you can play along with.

This is my card:

The star was hand drawn on patterned paper and then cut out. I'm not sure if you can tell, but underneath the sentiment there's a scalloped edge. The banner was cut out with the pennants set but then extended with a strip of the same designer paper, as it was not long enough for my purposes.

I am being good and not combining this with any other challenges even though it fits with two others. I told you I'd try to make a card for each challenge!

Supplies used:

pattern paper: Basic Grey- oddball collection and other unknown collection

card stock: Georgia Pacific white card stock; Papertrey Ink in Spring Moss

stamps: My Favorite Things- You're So Tweet stamp set

ink: Memento in Tuxedo Black

Copic colors: E27, E29, E30, E42, YG21, B0000

accesories: Fiskars- scallop edge punch and corner rounder; My Mind's Eye Lush rhinestones in blue; nestabilities pennant dies

Last Papertake of 2011

Hi all!

This is my submission for the Last Papertake of 2011 over at the Papertake Weekly Challenge blog.
The challenge was to use the sketch provided.

Here is my card:

The image was stamped using Versamark Dazzle in Frost. You can't see the shimmer from the photo, but it gives the angel a soft, magical look. That rectangle was slightly bent several times, as you would crinkle tissue paper, but with a lighter touch so the paper fibers would break a little. The brown scallops under the image were cut out using the cricut.

Supplies used:

card stock: Papertrey Ink- Lavender Moon, Dark Chocolate; Georgia Pacific white

pattern paper: unknown retired Stampin' Up! paper (says copyright 2006)- dark green and purple floral; light green pattern paper under the image is also unknown but I think it's Basic Grey

ink: Versamark Dazzle in frost; Memento in Rich Cocoa

accesories: cricut; Plantin Schoolbook Cartridge

DYSU #52, DDCC #145

Hi all!

I'd like to share a card that's going to be entered into two challenges:

One of them is challenge #52 over at the Do You Stack Up challenge blog. For the challenge, we were to use at least three colors of the rainbow in our creations. As you can see, I went for ALL the colors!

The other challenge I'm entering this into is challenge #145 over at the Dutch Dare Card Challenges blog, which was to use our favorite things. My favorite things are twine, Copic markers and rhinestones. Why are those elements my favorites? The twine because it's a fabulous way to add color quickly, the Copic markers because they have such an awesome color selection and they make your coloring look way better than what it is *wink* and the rhinestones because I think they add the perfect finishing touch to any project that looks incomplete.

Here's the card:

Supplies:

stamps: Imaginisce Snag-Em stamps- koala; Papertrey Ink- Mega Mixed Messages

ink: Memento- Tuxedo Black

Copic colors: 0, B00, Y08, R29, YR07, E42, E43

card stock: Georgia Pacific white; Papertrey Ink- True Black

accessories: Me & My Big Ideas red rhinestones; The Twinery twine in (from top to bottom) Maraschino, Mandarin, Buttercream, Peapod, Caribbean, Denim, Lilac

Charisma Cardz, Paper Sundaes #100, Pixie Cottage #101

Hi all!

This is my submission for the challenge over at the anything goes challenge on the Charisma Cardz Challenge blog. Also entering it on the Paper Sundaes blog, for the challenge #100 whose theme was "celebrate". The third challenge I am entering it into would be the challenge #101 over at The Pixie Cottage blog. The challenge over there was to use the sketch, the theme "someone special", or combine both. I chose to use the lovely sketch.

This is a first for me- combining 3 challenges! I am strapped for time, however, as this week is going to be very busy. I want to start the new year with a spotless house, so I'll be focusing more on tidying and cleaning. I hope that when I catch up on all the soon-to-close challenges, I can start making a card for each individual challenge. I love the idea of having a huge stash ready to use or distribute.

Enough chit chat *smile*. Here's my card:

The image was colored, cut out and mounted on the circle with mounting tape.

Supplies:

stamps: Papertrey Ink- Mega Mixed Messages; unknown Magnolia image

ink: Memento- Tuxedo Black

Copic colors: E00, E21, E29, E33, E37, B91, BV00, BV11, RV10, YR0000, Y11

Simon Says Stamp and Sweet Stampin Challenges

Hi all! I am entering this card into the challenge over at the Simon Says Stamp challenge. We were to play bingo and use the elements 3 in a row on a card. I chose the top row, horizontal, which was sparkle, rhinestones and ribbon.

I am also entering the card into the challenge over at the Sweet Stampin Challenge Blog. The challenge was to use sparkle and bling.

I know, I know. Cheating my personal challenge again. The thing is, if you don't refresh all the tabs you have open with different challenge blogs, they don't show when the link widget closes in an accurate manner. That's why I'm combining- I don't want to miss any challenge deadlines! I promise to make lots of cards once I catch up on all the current challenges.

Here's my card:

paper: Georgia Pacific white card stock; retired Stampin' Up! pink pattern paper; Die Cuts With a View mat stack (unknown collection, but it has glittery papers)

stamps: Inkadinkado- Birthday Cupcake

Cute Card Thursday #196

Hi all! This is my card for challenge #196 over at the Cute Card Thursday blog:

This is a 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" card.

I loved this sketch challenge! The card is SO heavy. It was so much fun using so many layers and having them all come out pretty and coordinated. That's the beauty of sketches :D I constructed the card first and then adhered the card stock to a white card base.

The images were colored with Copics.

I used three different white card stocks. The image was stamped on Neenah Solar White, the white layer that barely shows is Georgia Pacific white, and the card base is Papertrey Ink stamper's select white.

Supplies:

card stock: Papertrey Ink- Stamper's Select White, Spring Rain; Stampin' Up! - Kiwi Kiss; Georgia Pacific white; Neenah Solar White; generic lavender and yellow

patterned paper: Basic Grey- Lilykate; retired Stampin' Up! (says copyright from 2006)

stamps: unknown Magnolia image; Inkadinkado- Cirthday Cupcakes

ink: Memento- Tuxedo Black

Copic colors used: 0, BV000, BV00, B0000, B21, B91, Y11, YG03;
skin- E00, E31; hair-E29, E33, E37

MFTWSC51; Pixie Dust Studio challenge #106

This is my submission for the My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club Challenge:

I am also entering this card onto the challenge over at The Pixie Dust Studio's  challenge #106, which was to use three different patterned papers on your creation.

I created one patterned paper myself by stamping a flourishes stamp on a yellow piece of paper.  I know I promised to make a card for each different challenge, but this was a perfect opportunity to help me use more than 2 patterned papers on a card, which is usually very hard for me. The many elements on the card sketch helped me find places for 3 different patterns.

The little flower on the bow looked a bit flat, so I added a rhinestone and colored the border of each petal with a blue-green Copic.

Supplies:

stamps: My Favorite Things- You're so Tweet; Inkadinkado- Dot Flourishes

ink: Memento- Tuxedo Black; Versamagic watermark pad

Copics: BV00, BV11, BG11, YG61, V25, Y23, YR0000, RV10, R0000

card stock: Neenah Solar white (that's where I stamped and cut my image from); Georgia Pacific white for layering; Papertrey Ink in Kraft and Aqua Mist; Stampin' Up! Pink Pirouette

patterned paper: unknown dotted paper; Mix & Match by kopp design- Citrus: Hopscotch; unknown yellow paper

accessories: Nestabilities labels 1 (for the tab attached to the image); unknown yellow grosgrain ribbon; My Favorite Things Die-Namics- Double Scallop Border and Mini Rolled Roses; My Mind's Eye Lush Rhinestones in green

Tuesday Morning Sketches #125

Hi all! This is my submission for challenge #125 over at Tuesday Morning Sketches:

The pic doesn't show the similar colors so well, but the image rectangle is matted onto PTI Spring Rain and that's matted onto PTI Aqua Mist. I love the soft colors by Papertrey Ink.

The image was masked and then I stamped over it with a script background stamp using Versamark ink.

Supplies:
paper: Papertrey Ink card stock in Kraft, True Black, Aqua Mist and Spring Rain

stamps: Papertrey Ink- Mega Mixed Messages; Stampabilities- Le London Script; Recollections- don't know the name of the set but it's a set with many french themed images

ink: Memento- Tuxedo Black; Versamark watermark ink

accessories: Stampin' Up! Sizzlits Die Buttons #5

Allsorts Challenge Week #134

Hi all! This is my entry for the challenge over at the Allsorts Challenge Blog:

The challenge was to use the colors blue and brown. I know my pattern paper looks sort of funky, but that's because it's a reddish-brown which showed up way more reddish than brown when I took a pic of it.

I colored the image with Copics. To make the jeans more realistic, I sort of faded the color slightly using a colorless blender. Helps make them a bit less flat.

Supplies used:
paper- Papertrey Ink- Fine Linen card stock; unknown light blue pattern paper; unknown brown pattern paper
stamps: Oh Boy! Ian by The Greeting Farm; Papertrey Ink- Mega Mixed Messages
ink: Memento- Tuxedo Black
Copics: 0, B0000, B21, B37, C9, E30, E42, E49, YR20, multiliner in 0.5 and BS
accesories: fiskars corner rounder punch; MFT Die-Namics- Dainty Dots

Thanks for looking! Sorry for the shoddy coloring. I haven't practiced for a while now and all the things I'm coloring seem a bit off. Still waiting patiently for the Copic Coloring Guide to get to my PO Box. Need to watch some tutorials on hair and get my swatch/sample book updated. I've been neglecting keeping track of the colors I seem to pick up the most.

Sketch Saturday #186 challenge entry

Hi all! I've discovered so many awesome blogs with challenges. I'm entering as many as I can, but my challenge to myself is not to combine challenges. That means I'll be making a card for each single challenge.

This challenge, Sketch Saturday #186 over at the Sketch Saturday blog, was very fun.
Apparently this challenge was supposed to run until the 30th, but for some reason they have picked a winner already. Congrats to her!

Here is my take on the sketch:

Supplies used:

card stock: Papertrey Ink- Fine Linen
pattern paper: K&Company- Classic K Margo Mat Pad; Basic Grey- Lilykate; unknown striped green paper
ink: Memento- Tuxedo Black
copics: YG17, Y11, R01, E27, E30, E59, E81
stamps: MFT- Sitting Pretty Jolinne
accessories: circle nestabilities; twine from The Twinery in Buttercream; clear dew drops

Crafty Catz Challenge #113

Hi all!

I am so excited to participate on my first blog challenge ever. I made a creation for Challenge #113 over at Crafty Catz Weekly Challenge. The challenge was to use a Santa's Hat somewhere on your creation. I don't have any stamp or die cut of a Santa's Hat, so I drew one on to a stamped image of a Changito Stamp by Stampendous! using a Copic multiliner. I'd like to make it clear that I do not claim copyright to the image, as such rights belong to Stampendous!

After that I stamped the thanks sentiment and underlined it with the multiliner. The Changito was colored with Copics. Then I cut out a strip of patterned paper and die cut a strip of red card stock with an MFT die. I glued them together and then placed them over the colored image. Using an oval nestabilities, I traced the shape of an oval onto the strip of patterned paper and cut out the inside so that the strip would frame the image. With the little dots that fell out of the die cutout, I added a little extra touch under the sentiment by adhering three of them. All of that was done on a piece of 4 3/16" x 5 7/16" white card stock and adhered to a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white card base.

Supplies:
Stamps: Cling Changuito Solo; PTI-Mega Mixed Messages
Ink: Memento- Tuxedo Black
Copics: R24, R27, B0000, E25, E31, Multiliner 0.5
Accesories: Dainty Dots Die-namics by MFT
Card Stock: Georgia Pacific white card stock; Unknown red card stock
Pattern Paper: Adornit- Holly Jolly collection

Thanks for looking and merry Christmas to those who celebrate it!

masculine feel better

Hi all!

I am sorry I have not posted for a while. My old camera died and I lost the pics on it, as I can't even retrieve them when I insert the memory card to my computer. I'm not sure what happened there. Thankfully there weren't all that many of them, except for some Christmas cards and some pics of my dogs that I'd been meaning to take to have them developed. This makes me start thinking of getting an external hard drive.

I have a new camera now which I bought used and I hope it works out. I've played around with it and it takes amazing pics.

Here's one:

   This is an A2 card.
I covered a white 2"x 5" rectangle in Versamagic- Wheat ink, and then stamped Verve's leafy branch stamp (I'm not sure of the name, but the number on the back is VS-09-PJ025) several times with blues and greens. To finish that off I stamped a script background stamp on it using Versamark Dazzle in frost. I matted that onto PTI kraft card stock and that onto PTI dark chocolate card stock. Then I ran a piece of the kraft card stock through the big shot using the Traffic Jam cuttlebug embossing folder. I gently patted it with the inks I had used to stamp the leafy branch, and matted it onto the brown card stock. Then I adhered it onto the blue card base, and adhered the long rectangle onto it. I stamped a sentiment from Verve's Heartfelt Phrases, and drew three dots under it with a fine-tip brown pen. Since the card was still looking a bit bland, I added paper piercing using a tracing wheel. It works well for the paper pierced look but it doesn't quite pierce holes completely, so I won't use that for stitching. I want something which will save me the effort of having to then pierce the holes myself.

Supplies:
Ink: Versamagic- Aloe Vera, Aspen Mist, Niagara Mist, Wheat
Memento- Rich Cocoa
Tim Holtz Distress Inks- Tumbled Glass, Peeled paint
Versamark Dazzle- Frost

Stamps: Verve- Heartfelt Phrases, Leafy Branch (VS-09-PJ025)
Stampabilities- Le London Script

Accesories- tracing wheel, brown fine tip pen, Traffic Jam cuttlebug embossing folder

Paper: Papertrey Ink- Kraft, Dark Chocolate; Georgia Pacific white; unknown blue card stock

IC315 at SCS

Hi all!

I made this card for the Inspiration Challenge #315 over at splitcoaststampers.com
The challenge was to make something inspired by the items on this website.

Here is my take on the challenge, based on this piece:

I drew the angel on copy paper and then printed it into Georgia Pacific white card stock. Then I touched up the lines with a Copic multiliner 0.5

Image was colored with Copics and Prismacolor pencils. Stickles were used on the wing. After everything was dry, I cut out the angel and taped to the background, which is made out of a retired Stampin Up! paper and an unknown strip of red patterned paper. I made sure to attach the floss at this point. Then, all that was adhered to a piece of brown patterned paper from the Basic Grey Sultry collection. It looks distressed. For the scalloped rectangle, I went to my trusty Cricut Imagine and used one of the built in templates. After adhering the rectangle panel to the scalloped rectangle, I went and adhered the whole thing to a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of brown patterned paper from stash, and adhered that to a blank card base.

Supplies:
Hand drawn image
Copics: Skin- E41; Dress- E41, E42, E43, YG11, G12; Hair- YG0000, E81
Prismacolor pencils: Horn- Metallic Gold; Shoe- Creme and Dark Brown
Accesories: Diamond Stickles; We R Memory Keepers floss in Quick Sand
Paper: Georgia Pacific white card stock; Stampin Up! retired pattern paper (the papers say Stampin Up! 2006), Basic Grey- Sultry collection; unknown red patterned paper; unknown brown patterned paper

quick one layer card with new goodies

Hi all!

I acquired some new stamping goodies recently and decided to ink them up. Awesome haul, huh?

This is what I came up with:

It's a one layer card. Technically, though, it's 2 layers. See, I have a pile of blank card fronts and work on those. Otherwise, I'd have to throw out several complete cards. Instead of two tries per sheet of paper, by cutting a letter size card stock into fourths, I have 4 tries per sheet. It took me three tries to get this right. The problem was that I wanted to use a mask and stamp the flowers, then a notebook paper stamp in the masked out space and then the sentiment on that. Since I only wanted to keep it to one layer, that is why I had to make a mask of the notebook paper stamp and lightly tape it to the card base and then stamp the large flowers stamp on it. Even though this is my third try, I should have gone for a fourth because I did not stamp the notebook paper stamp perfectly inside the masked blank space. After I was done with the card front, I just taped it to an A2 card base.

I used the following supplies:
Copics: BV0000, BV000, BG93, BG96, Y21, Y32, Y38, YR16, R32, R83, R85
Paper: Georgia Pacific white card stock
Ink: Versafine in Onyx Black; Memento in Rich Cocoa; Versamagic in Pixie Dust
Stamps: Stampendous- Cling Ranunculus Field; Verve Stamps- Notebook Paper, sentiment is VS-09-PJ013 (All the flowers of tomorrow are in the seeds of today)
Accesories: Twine from the Twinery- blossom

SBVC168

Hi all! This page was made for this week's Scrapbook Variety Challenge over at splitcoaststampers.com, challenge #168.

For our challenge, we were to go to this cookware page and choose a plate for inspiration. The plate I chose was this one.

Here is the page I made:

This creamy card stock is Stampin Up! It came in one of those neutrals 12x12 packs, so I'm not sure of the name of the color. This was bought before the renovation, so I'm not sure the color is even around anymore. As for the green and red card stock, I don't know the brand because they were bought as loose sheets at a scrapbook supply store. They're most definitely not Bazzil because these were very thin sheets. Bazzil is usually a thicker card stock than these.

I drew myself the holly leaves and berries and using a ruler I drew some lines for the journaling. For those I used a Copic multiliner in 0.5 size. The coloring was done using Copics #R27, YG17 and YG67.

The cream circle was cut using a plate as a stencil, but then I remembered I have 2 cricuts, hehe, so I used a template from the imagine to cut a quick circle. I used the fit to page option. In case you didn't know, the imagine comes with built-in templates you can use even if you don't have a shape cartridge inserted. They have some basic pretty shapes which resemble some nestabilities, which is something to keep in mind if you can't afford buying every single set of nestabilities out there. I'll be honest. A cricut is a real time saver. It took all of 1 minute to pick the shape, size it to my needs and then have the machine cut it. The one cut by hand took more time and loads more work *wink*.

A challenge a day keeps the hoarding away: Day 5

This is my page for the day 5 challenge on the thread over at splitcoaststampers.com titled "A Challenge a Day Keeps the Hoarding Away": http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/scrapbooking-f42/challenge-day-keeps-hoarding-away-t543357.html

I had forgotten to add the Copic colors I used to color the images on my previous post, so here they are: C1, C3, C5, B0000, B00, R24, R39, R46 were all used on the robots and space ship. Y28 was used on the gold rings and T0 on the edges of the moon.

I'm not completely sure about all the supplies I used except I know the dark gray matting card stock is from Papertrey Ink and the white card stock is Georgia Pacific. The embossing folder used on the moon and the journaling strips is a cuttlebug embossing folder called Spots & Dots. The circles were cut out using circle nestabilities, and the golden rings were sprayed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Dazzling Diamonds.

I promise solemnly to keep better track of the supplies I use from now on. *smile*

Show and tell *wink*

Hi all! These are my first attempts at coloring with Copic markers. I've been reading up on Marianne Walker's blog http://ilikemarkers.blogspot.com/ which is SO helpful. I need to practice lots before I can get to HER level, though. I'm not sure who made these images. They came from my stash of stamped images which I had acquired long ago. If anyone can tell me who made them, I would appreciate it very much!

These are my newly acquired markers. Copic Sketch one and all. Abominable storage, but only temporary. I'm having a custom piece built. It is on my father's queue *wink*

I LOVE having so many colors to choose from. I think there's 300 markers in here. I have to count them. I bought them as a lot, used, on Ebay, which saved so much work and effort AND money. It would have been way more expensive and time-consuming buying them individually. There's still a few colors I need to add, such as the Toner grays. I have to look at which colors I have and check to see if I NEED any other colors apart from those. New colors are released every once in a while, so will also have to look at those.

Coming soon: a scrapbook page made using the images I colored.

New blogger alert!

Hi there, friends. I think it's finally time to go "viral" and start a blog. I will be posting my crafty creations here.
