Top Tip Tuesday #68 TIP!

Hi all!

I made this mini tutorial as a tip to share over at Top Tip Tuesday. This is the first tip I have ever submitted anywhere. To top it off, it's a valentine's related tip!

Ok, so my problem was I did not have a heart shaped die, and with Valentine's day coming up I really needed a cute, easy and quick way to make hearts. I didn't want to hand cut each and every one, so here's what I did.

I have scallop circle nestabilities. I noticed the scallops look like the top of a heart!

That gave me the idea to cut out the scallop circle shape out of felt and then with two quick snips of the scissor, I have a felt heart!

After I have cut out all the scallops, this is what's left.

Don't throw it out just yet, though. You can still use this left over felt from the center of the die cut. Just use a smaller scallop circle die!

See? Now you have a quick stash of heart felt cut outs which were SO quick to make without spending big bucks on a heart shape die or worse, on lots of different-sized heart shaped dies. Instead, you make do with what you have on hand! Technically this would work with any other scallop shape die that you have.

Thanks for looking, and I hope this tip was useful!
