Papertake Weekly

Hi all! This is my entry for Papertake Weekly's getting krafty challenge. Very simple challange- we were to use kraft card stock somewhere on our creation. I chose to use it as my card base.

Here's my card:

Isn't it darling?! I bought that huge stamp by Our Daily Bread Designs recently, but I was struggling on how to use it. After many discarded attempts, I just stamped it using Versafine black ink onto white card stock (my versafine onyx black ink pad fell apart after inking up this huge stamp so often and so vigorously :( !), then colored the white with some ink pads and also using the ink applicator tool. Then I colored the tree. To my delight, I found this stamped image of an Edwin on my stash. To my dismay, I don't have more of those :( I think this will have to go to my wishlist because adding him to the ODBD collage stamp and coloring him just made for the perfect finishing touch. Just the colored collage looked so plain without the little colored Edwin. Oh, and I forgot to mention- during the first tries, I had inked up the stamp with Versamark Dazzle in frost before adding the black, and now as a result the actual stamped image shimmers beautifully, especially the tree! There's no way to catch it on a pic, but trust me, it's gorgeous in person.

now for the supplies used:
stamps: Our Daily Bread Designs- Tree Collage; unknown Edwin image by Magnolia
ink: Versafine Onyx Black; Versamark Dazzle-Frost; VersaMagic in Wheat; Tim Holtz distress ink in Antique Linen and Frayed Burlap
Copic colors: let me try to make sense out of the mess of markers on my desk... I'll try to explain what I used on each part. The tree used G07, G24, G29, G82,G94, R24, Y00, Y15. On Edwin, I used 0 and G0000 on the wings. On hair, I used E37 and E57. Skin was R0000 and R00. Shirt, hat and shoes was C00, R24, R27 and R29. Bag was Y15, BG93 and BG96. Pants- I started off with W9, W7 and W5 but also added in C7 and C3.
card stock: Papertrey Ink- Pure Poppy, kraft; Neenah Solar White 80#

remake of a previous card

Hi there!

Guess what my puppy's been up to? She likes to climb up on her two legs and look at the things in my desk. She accidentally slobbered a card I had made a bit ago:

The slobber made the paper warp and the black ink smeared. I was able to save the image, and this is what I came up with:

supplies used for the remake:
stamp: Lolli Anya by The Greeting Farm
ink: Memento in Tuxedo Black
Copic colors: Copic colors: 0, W0, C00, W5, W7, W9, E34, E35, RV00, BG0000, BG11, BG13, BG23, BG34, BG75, BG78
card stock: Colorbok aqua; Georgia Pacific white; Neenah Solar White
patterned paper: Scrappy Cat- Glamour Pink
accessories: light purple grosgrain ribbon; Stampin' Up! Love & Happiness rub-on

Here's my card:

I used scraps lying around in my desk! The strips of PTI's Plum Pudding were lying around about to be thrown out because I cut them 1" wide instead of 3/4" when making a card yesterday. Lucky me, I did not throw them out right away and then decided to use them for this card. That pink layer is the very last bit out of a 12x12 Scrappy Cat patterned paper sheet. You have probably noticed me using it on the last few cards :) I'm trying to keep at it once I cut into a sheet, because my scrap basket is starting to overflow and my naughty puppy does not need much encouragement to do mischief. In fact, that corner detail with the ribbon was because of her! She stole a spool of that ribbon and tore off the cardboard. But it's OK, it encouraged me to use the ribbon instead of putting it away. The bad part is she also tore up the cardboard spool of a 30 foot ribbon. Sigh. Imagine the tangle she left.

supplies used:
stamps: bunnies digi by Meljen's Designs. It's a freebie which can be found here.
patterned paper: Scrappy Cat- Glamour Pink
card stock: Georgia Pacific white; Papertrey Ink- Plum Pudding
Copic colors: B00, B01, B12, V06, V15, V25, RV14, BG11, BG23, G0000, Y06, Y08, YG13, YG23, E57

The House That Stamps Built; Delightful Challenges

Hi all!

I am entering my card into the following challenges:

The House That Stamps Built DCC215 was to use something leftover on our desk. Delightful Challenges asked us to use scraps. I used a scrap of kraft card stock to cut out an oval to stamp the sentiment on.

Here's my card:

stamp: unknown Edwin by Magnolia
ink: black
Copic colors: W5, W7, W9, YR0000, G12, R27, R29, B34, B95, B97, multiliner 0.5

Crafter's Companion challenge #21 was an anything goes.

Here's my card:

This is my first time (I think!) trying to color in a dark skin tone. And I also tried the flicking technique on the hair and leaving a bit of white for shine instead of the lightest hair color and there's a huge difference! I love it! My friend told me she almost had to put sunglasses on, lol.
I doodled faux stitching and added a line under the rub-on sentiment with a Copic multiliner.

City Crafter #95; Sweet Stampin'

Hi all!

I am entering my card into the following challenges:

City Crafter's challenge #95 was to use at least 3 of the colors of the rainbow. I used green, blue, yellow and orange.

Sweet Stampin' hosted a clean and simple challenge.

Here's my card:

I would like to offer the story behind the card. I recently found a website, dogtuff.com, which offers the toughest dog toys out there. To top it off, most of them are covered by a warranty. My three dogs are notorious for breaking any new toy within the first 5 minutes of letting them have it. So I was delighted to find a website which offered a warranty behind their toys. I ordered 5 toys from them. One got broken the same day, so I contacted customer service and within 24 hours I already had instructions on what to do with the toy. I opted for a store refund instead of a replacement, figuring since they managed to break this one, they will break the toy again if I get the same one. I am happy to report that all the other toys are doing great and although they are a bit chewed up, these are the toys that have lasted the most, for a total of 48 hours (so far!). Customer service even sent me a personal recommendation about which particular toys might work best for me and my girls. I am a VERY happy, pleased customer and will be buying more toys from them. Already have the online cart loaded up with the new goodies I'll be getting the girls with the refund!

Now, for the supplies used:
stamps: unknown doghouse image; Papertrey Ink- Mega Mixed Messages
ink: Memento- Tuxedo Black
Copic colors: 0, E27, E57, E59, YR09, YR18, RV25, Y13, Y21, Y23, YG07, YG25, B12, B21, multiliner 0.8
