Puppy Valentine

Ok, the challenge list was too long to enter them all on the title. Here's the challenges I'm entering this card to:

Penny Black Saturday Challenge week #185 wanted to see us use our crafty bargains and as with all their challenges use a Penny Black image. I know for a fact the image I used is by Penny Black, I just don't know the particular name of the stamp. The crafty bargain I am featuring is twine. I got the sample bundle for the black Friday sales at 25% off. So, so glad I did. It's now my second most favorite embellishment.

Do You Stack Up challenge #55 wanted us to use patterned paper. I used patterned paper on the glittery rose and on the main circle behind the doggy image. This is my second entry for this challenge.

Dream Valley challenge #24 wanted us to feature an animal. The sweet Penny Black dog is the star of my card.

Wags 'n Whiskers stamps challenge 71 asked us to create a Valentine's/Love card.

CardPatterns sketch #149 provided me with the sketch for the main part of the card. I adhered to the sketch and made a mini card and then adhered that on an A2 card base because leaving it tiny like that was too out of my comfort zone, lol. Besides, that part was so heavy that I didn't think it would've held up on what I wanted to turn it into, which was an easel card.

The Poodles Parlour has a Valentine/Love theme as a challenge.

Cupcake Craft Challenges #176 has an "all you need is love" theme. I chose to interpret this the easy way- making a valentine's card and adding a "love" sentiment.

Stamp, Scrap and Doodle's challenge is "have a heart". They wanted to see hearts in our creations. I have a painted chipboard heart behind the doggie and the designer paper behind him is full of hearts.

Here's my card:

This part is where I went to town with the sketch I used:

A close-up of where all the action is going on. I threaded three different colored twines through the dainty dots Die-namics cut-out. I made a little bow with the leftovers from that and adhered on top of the paper flower. The doggie was colored with Copics and mounted on mounting tape. That's how I was able to tuck the painted chipboard heart behind him.

Here's my inspiration for coloring the doggie:

This is Sophi, one of my baby girls. She's sleeping like an angel while I'm up crafting. At least she's not up to mischief. She likes to steal my supplies while I'm not looking. Her favorite thing to steal has always been ribbon, but lately she's been stealing the twine. As a result, several of my colors are a tangled mess.
At least she doesn't destroy anything. She just does it for fun, I think.

Here's the supplies I used:
stamps: Penny Black dog with rose image from stash; Papertrey Ink- Mega Mixed Messages
ink: Memento in Tuxedo Black
Copic colors: YR30, Y32, YG17, RV23, RV25
card stock: Papertrey Ink- True Black and Pure Poppy; Georgia Pacific white; Stampin' Up!- Pink Pirouette
patterned paper: Die Cuts With a View - glittered The Sweet Stack; unknown hearts paper from stash
accessories: scallop circle and circle nestabilities; My Favorite Things- dainty dots and rolled roses Die-Namics; Fiskars scallop edge punch; chipboard heart; white acrylic paint; pink, red and black rhinestones; Tim Holtz paper distressing tool (for black circle layer); mounting tape (behind stamped image); The Twinery twine in blossom, maraschino and pink sorbet

Thanks for looking!
