FLLCJANRW1

edited to add- Blogger seems to not be working properly. The font and font size I usually use show up different on the published blog post.

Hi all!

This is my submission for the challenge over at the Flourishes blog, FLLCJANRW1. The challenge was to use the colors on the image provided, which was a dragon as 2012 is the year of the dragon.

Here's my card:

It was a bit difficult finding an orchid picture with the exact same colors so I used a bit of artistic license and based the coloring on an orchid picture but tried to stay true to the colors of the challenge.

Here's the colors I matched to the dragon:
Y38 for the orange parts
RV25 for the bright pink body
R14 for the lower belly scales
R17 for the head scales

And then I sprinkled in other colors so I could blend the petals. The other colors I used were Y00, Y02, Y08, RV09, RV17, RV19, R39, YR09, YG17, YG67, G07, W0, 0, multiliner 0.5

supplies used:
card stock: Neenah Solar white 80#
stamps: Flourishes- Orchids
ink: Memento in Tuxedo Black
Copic colors: Y00, Y02, Y08, Y38, RV09, RV17, RV19, RV25,R14, R17, R39, YR09, YG17, YG67, G07, W0, 0, multiliner 0.5

You know how the Copic colors with red tend to bleed? No exception here, especially with how much I saturated the card stock with ink. What I did was use a black pen and add extra lines to encompass the bleeding inside. Since the petals of the orchid are slightly ruffled at the edges, you can't even tell I've altered the image.

Thanks for looking, and I promise to give the Orchid set a break *wink*. I know it's the third card I've made with it in this week alone.
